Guldstreet Shipping was founded in New York by members of the Ghanaian diaspora who were frustrated with existing barrel shipping options that felt impersonal, expensive and logistically burdensome. We decided to build the service we wished had existed when our own families were shipping.
What We Do Differently
We Come to You
Door-to-door pickup covers all of New York City, New Jersey and Philadelphia. You should not have to haul a heavy barrel anywhere. We pick up barrels, boxes, totes, suitcases and personal effects from your home or business and ship them by ocean to Ghana, including Accra, Tema, Kumasi and more. We also serve Togo and Ivory Coast.
Flat Pricing, No Surprises
Our rate for a 55-gallon barrel to Ghana is $190 door-to-door. That price includes door pickup from Boston to Washington DC, ocean freight to Tema, customs clearance at Tema, Ghana import duties on personal effects, and door delivery in Accra and Tema. Delivery to other Ghana cities such as Kumasi or Takoradi is quoted separately before booking. We tell you the price upfront.
We Know Ghana
Our team includes people who have personally worked with Ghana's Tema Port, dealt with Ghanaian customs, and shipped goods back and forth for years. When something happens at the port, and sometimes things do, we know who to call.
Our Services
- Barrel Shipping: $190 per 55-gallon barrel, door-to-door from New York to Accra. Other sizes: 65-gallon barrel $220; 75-77-gallon jumbo barrel $240. Large box $100; medium box $75; tote bag $100; tote box 7-gal $40, 27-gal $100; suitcase $60; bag of rice (we pick up and ship) 25 kg $35, 50 kg $65; sofa 3-seater $600, 4-seater $750; folding table 4 ft round $70, 6 ft rectangular $65. Rates to Togo and Ivory Coast are slightly higher and shown in brackets on our website.
- Vehicle Shipping: We ship cars, SUVs, pickup trucks and commercial trucks to Ghana from the USA, Canada and China. For USA and Canada vehicle shipments, costs are quoted per job. From China to Ghana, rates for fuel and hybrid HEV vehicles with valid export documentation are: large SUV or pickup truck $3,500; compact SUV $2,800; large sedan $2,350; compact sedan $1,700. Add $500 per vehicle if export documentation is not available.
- Heavy Equipment and Machinery: We ship heavy equipment and machinery to Ghana using RoRo, flat rack, open top or breakbulk as the cargo requires. Costs are quoted per job.
- Container Shipping: We offer full container (FCL) and shared container (LCL) shipments to Ghana. Costs are quoted per job.
- Door-to-Door Delivery: Full last-mile service in Accra and Tema, with delivery to other cities quoted separately.
- Shop & Ship: Buy in the USA, we ship to Ghana.
- Auction Service: We handle your US auction vehicle purchase and shipping.
Ghana Vehicle Import Standard GS 4510
Ghana vehicle import standard GS 4510 was due to take effect on October 1, 2026, but its pre-shipment inspection was suspended on October 5, 2026, with a new date to be announced. When enforced, it requires a pre-shipment inspection and a Certificate of Conformity. We can guide you through the process to help ensure your vehicle meets the requirement before it ships.
Christmas Shipping Deadlines
