What full-service consolidation means

You buy from as many stores, suppliers and online sellers as you like and have everything delivered to our warehouse. We receive each package, log it, photograph it and hold it for you. When your goods are ready, we pack them properly and load them into a container for Tema. One shipment, one written price, and one team responsible for your cargo from the warehouse door to your door in Ghana.

It is the service families use to send a year of Christmas shopping in one go, and the one traders use to bring home stock from dozens of US suppliers without flying in to pack it themselves.

How it works

1. Open your account. Tell us who you are, what you plan to send and roughly how much. We confirm your details and give you a personal account code.
2. Send your goods to us. Use your account code on every order and delivery: Amazon, Walmart, Costco, Home Depot, eBay, wholesalers or your own drop-off. Large freight deliveries and pallets are received by appointment.
3. We receive and log every package. Each arrival is checked against your order, measured, photographed and added to your account, so you can see exactly what we are holding.
4. We pack and protect. We remove bulky retail packaging where it wastes space, wrap fragile items, pack loose goods into boxes, barrels or crates, and build a packing list for every package, as Ghana customs requires.
5. One written quote, paid in full before loading. When everything has arrived, we send one quote for the whole shipment based on the measured volume.
6. We load and ship to Tema. Your cargo goes into a shared container (LCL) or a full container of your own (FCL), sealed and tracked. We confirm the vessel and estimated arrival when it sails.
7. Clearance and delivery in Ghana. We support clearance at Tema and deliver to your door in Accra and Tema. Other cities are quoted before booking.

Shared container or your own container

Shared container (LCL). Your goods share space with other customers' cargo and you pay for the space you use. This suits most households and small traders.

Full container (FCL). A 20-foot or 40-foot container for your goods alone. This suits businesses, family groups shipping together and anyone sending a car with household goods. A 40-foot container can carry a vehicle and your consolidated goods in one shipment, braced and secured inside.

Full service or self-load

Full-service consolidation means your goods come to us and we do the receiving, packing and loading. If you have your own warehouse or space and a team to load, you can instead book a container delivered to your location and load it yourself. This is called a shipper-loaded or live-load container. Some goods cannot be shipped or need special approval, including weapons, flammable liquids, gas cylinders, loose lithium batteries, and used refrigerators and air conditioners that fall under Ghana's import restrictions. Ask us before you buy if you are unsure.

Shipping for Christmas

December is the busiest month of the year for shipping to Ghana. Containers fill early, so send your goods to the warehouse as soon as you can. Check our Christmas shipping page for this year's booking cutoffs and estimated arrival.

What your quote covers

Included: receiving and logging every package, arrival photos, packing and protection, packing lists, container loading, ocean freight to Tema, clearance support at Tema and door delivery in Accra and Tema.

Quoted separately: delivery to other Ghana cities, packing materials for unusually large or fragile items, Ghana duties and taxes on commercial goods, and storage if goods are held past the agreed loading date.

Frequently asked questions

What is full-service consolidation?

It is a shipping service where you send all your purchases to our US warehouse, and we receive, pack and load them into one container for Ghana. You ship once instead of sending many small parcels.

How do I send things to your warehouse?

Open an account and we give you your account code and the warehouse address. Put the code on every order so we can match each package to you. Freight and pallet deliveries are received by appointment.

Can you ship a car together with my goods?

Yes. A car and household goods can share a 40-foot container. We secure the vehicle first and load your goods around it.

How is the price worked out?

By the measured volume of your packed goods, plus any vehicle. We measure everything at the warehouse and send one written quote, paid in full before loading.

How do I know my packages arrived?

Every package is logged and photographed when it arrives, and we send you the arrival photos. Your shipment and invoice are always in your My Guldstreet account.

Do you deliver in Ghana?

Yes. Door delivery in Accra and Tema is included. Delivery to Kumasi, Takoradi and other cities is quoted before booking.
