Advocate Terms

Plain terms for a plain service. Effective October 2026.

1. What we are, and what we are not

Guldstreet Shipper's Advocate is an advisory service of Guldstreet Shipping LLC, New York, NY. We review, verify, advise and advocate for you. We are not a law firm and do not give legal advice or legal representation. We are not a customs broker: customs entries in Ghana are filed by licensed customs house agents, and in the United States by licensed customs brokers where one is required.

2. We never hold your duty money

You pay Ghana Revenue Authority, shipping lines, terminals and agents directly through their official channels. We will never ask you to send duty, port charges or third-party fees to us.

3. Independence

Our advocacy never depends on shipping with Guldstreet. If you ship with another company we work for you just the same, and we do not pressure you to switch. If you ship cars or containers with Guldstreet, membership is included for the life of that shipment, and we will tell you plainly whenever a finding concerns our own service.

4. Membership

Membership is $99 a year or $12 a month and gives access to the member toolkit for the period paid. Monthly membership renews only when you pay again; we email you a reminder. Bill Check includes six bills per membership year. Vetted clearing agents and the Tema Price Index are published as our case files support them.

5. Services and payment

Services are paid before work begins. Prices shown are non-card prices; card and PayPal payments are 3% higher. Members receive 20% off services. Founding client prices require consent to a public testimonial when the work is done.

6. Refunds

Document and Quote Audit: if we do not find something worth more than the fee under our published Red Flag Standard, we refund it in full. Any service: if we have not started work, we refund in full on request. Membership is not refundable once the toolkit has been used, except where the law requires.

7. Tema Rescue success fee

Where it applies, the success fee is a percentage of the fees reduced or waived, measured against the bills you show us at intake, capped in your written agreement and payable only once your cargo is released.

8. Letter of Authority

For some services you will sign a Letter of Authority so that shipping lines, terminals and agents can discuss your cargo with us. It does not let us sign for you, file customs entries or make payments on your behalf.

9. Your documents and data

Documents you upload are stored privately, are seen only by our staff working your case, and are never sold or shared except with parties you ask us to contact for you. We keep case files for up to 24 months after a case closes, then delete them, or sooner if you ask.

10. Limits

We work from the documents and information you give us and from Ghana's rules as published at the time. Final decisions on eligibility, valuation, duty and release rest with the authorities. We do not promise any particular outcome. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the fees you paid us for the service concerned.
