Before it ships

Register with the Ghana Shippers' Authority.
Check the cargo is allowed in.
Vehicles: GS 4510 inspection.
Vehicles: title to U.S. Customs on time.
Make the paperwork match.
Get a written quote that lists what is not included.
Insure it.

When it arrives

Personal effects: file the PUBD.
Know your customs entry deadline.
Know your free days.
Check your clearing agent's license.
Never pay a bill you haven't verified.
Inspect before you sign for delivery.
