We send you one written quote that covers the item cost, our buying fee and shipping. Nothing is bought until you approve that quote and pay it. We then buy the items, send you photos and receipts, exchange anything that arrives wrong before it ships, consolidate purchases from several stores into one shipment, and send it to Ghana, Togo, Cote d'Ivoire or Nigeria.

The part that matters most for readers in Ghana: you do not need a US card and you do not need a US address. You can pay by card or PayPal from anywhere, or family in the United States can pay by Cash App. Door delivery is included in Accra and Tema. Delivery to other Ghana cities is quoted before you commit.

Who This Service Is For

Three kinds of buyers use Shop and Ship, and each has a slightly different problem.

• The buyer in Ghana without a US payment method. Many US retailers reject foreign cards, or reject the billing address. Shop and Ship removes that barrier because the purchase is made here and paid for through one invoice.
• The family member in the US buying for relatives. A sister in Newark or a brother in Silver Spring can approve a quote, pay it, and have the goods consolidated and shipped without becoming a part-time freight coordinator.
• The small business restocking. A shop in Accra that wants specific goods from several US retailers can have them bought, photo-checked, packed and consolidated rather than dealing with five separate sellers and five separate shipments.

If you are shipping a barrel you packed yourself, that is a different service and a different price. Shop and Ship is for goods we buy on your instruction.

What You Can Buy and Where We Buy It

We buy from any US store that sells online and ships to a US address. In practice, most orders come from a familiar set of retailers:

• Amazon
• Walmart
• Target
• Costco and BJ's
• Beauty supply stores
• Brand websites and specialist retailers

You can mix stores in one order. That is the point of consolidation: five small parcels from five sellers become one shipment with one set of handling, rather than five shipments each with their own costs and their own chance of damage.

There are limits. We buy within each seller's purchase limits, so a retailer that caps quantities per customer will cap your order too. We do not handle gold, silver, diamonds or precious stones, crude oil, LNG or refined petroleum, or live animals. If you are unsure whether an item is acceptable, ask before you send the link.

Ghana also bans certain used goods outright, including used fridges, freezers and air conditioners. Buy new appliances, and confirm the rules for anything unusual with the relevant Ghana agency or a licensed customs house agent before you commit money.

The Money: One Quote, Paid Before We Buy

The sequence is deliberately simple, and it protects both sides.

1. You send product links.
2. We send one written quote covering the item cost, our buying fee and shipping.
3. You approve the quote and pay it in full.
4. We buy the items and send photos and receipts.
5. We exchange anything wrong before it ships.
6. We consolidate and ship.

We buy nothing until the quote is approved and paid. That rule exists because retail prices move, stock disappears, and a buyer who has not committed cannot be left holding a purchase they did not want.

Payment is by card or PayPal from anywhere, or family in the US can pay by Cash App. We do not accept Zelle, bank transfer or wire, so do not plan around them.

The buying fee is stated in your written quote. We do not publish a percentage, because the work varies with the number of stores, the number of items and the amount of checking involved. What you get is a single figure you can compare against doing it yourself.

What We Check Before Cargo Leaves the US

Buying online is easy. Buying online well is the part that costs people money. Our checking routine is built around the failures we see most often.

• Photos of every item. You see what arrived at our end before it is packed for the ocean.
• Receipts. You see what was actually paid, item by item.
• Exchanges before shipping. Wrong size, wrong colour, wrong model, damaged in transit to us: we exchange it here, where returns are practical, rather than after it has crossed the Atlantic.
• Consolidation. Multiple stores, one shipment, packed together so small items are not loose inside a larger carton.

This is also why we ask for clear product links rather than descriptions. A link identifies the exact variant, size and seller. A description invites a substitution you did not want.

Shipping to Ghana, Togo, Cote d'Ivoire and Nigeria

Shop and Ship delivers to Ghana, Togo, Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and Nigeria. The destination changes the last mile, and in one case it changes who clears the goods.

Ghana. Door delivery is included in Accra and Tema. Delivery to Kumasi, Takoradi and other cities is quoted separately before booking, so there is no surprise at the end.

Togo and Cote d'Ivoire. We ship there as well. Ask for a quote for the specific destination city.

Nigeria. We ship from the USA to the Lagos ports, including containers, vehicles, commercial cargo and Shop and Ship orders. Guldstreet Shipping does not have a clearing agent in Nigeria and does not clear goods at Nigerian ports. You must hire your own licensed Nigerian customs clearing agent to handle Form M, duties and clearing. We will not claim door delivery, port clearance or duty handling in Nigeria, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does.

On timing: we do not quote transit times in days or weeks. The vessel and estimated arrival are confirmed when your cargo sails, and you will have that in writing.

Shop and Ship Compared With the Alternatives

Buyers usually weigh three routes. Here is an honest comparison of what each one asks of you.

The middle route works well for people who already have a US card and a US address and who enjoy logistics. The third route works until it does not. Shop and Ship sits between them: you keep control of what is bought, and someone else carries the operational risk.

A Practical Checklist Before You Send Links

Run through this list once and most problems disappear before they cost anything.

1. Send exact product links, not screenshots or descriptions. Include size, colour and model where the retailer offers variants.
2. Check the seller. On marketplaces, confirm whether the item is sold by the retailer or by a third party, and note the difference.
3. Confirm the destination city. Accra and Tema include door delivery. Anywhere else is quoted first.
4. Check Ghana import rules for the item. Used fridges, freezers and air conditioners are banned. For anything regulated, confirm with the agency or a licensed customs house agent.
5. Decide who pays and how. Card or PayPal from anywhere, or Cash App from family in the US. No Zelle, bank transfer or wire.
6. Keep the quote. It is your record of what was approved and what was paid.
7. Expect photos and receipts. If you have not received them, ask.
8. Plan for the last mile outside Accra and Tema. Ask for that delivery quote before you approve the purchase, not after.

Buying for Family in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and DC

A large share of Shop and Ship orders are placed by family members along the US east coast. If you are in New York City, Long Island, Westchester, New Jersey or Philadelphia, our pickup operation already runs there daily, which makes coordination straightforward. If you are in Maryland, Washington DC, Northern Virginia, Delaware, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, upstate New York or Pennsylvania outside Philadelphia, Saturday is the standing pickup day, with the exact date confirmed in writing when you book.

Two practical notes for family buyers. First, agree with your relative in Ghana who chooses the items and who approves the quote, so the money and the decision sit in the same place. Second, keep the receipts. They are useful at home and they matter if anyone later asks what was shipped and what it cost.

If you are also sending a barrel of your own goods, that is a separate booking with its own price, and the two can travel together on the same schedule if you plan them at the same time.

If you are shipping a vehicle, note that reports on Ghana's used-vehicle age limit conflict, with figures of 10 and 15 years in circulation. Confirm the age limit before you buy. Flood, fire, rebuilt and salvage vehicles are barred, and right-hand-drive vehicles are admitted only under a regulated conversion framework that is still being set up.

What to Expect at the Ghana End

For personal effects, our barrel and box service includes customs clearance at Tema and Ghana import duties on personal effects. Shop and Ship orders are quoted individually, so read your quote to see exactly what is included for your shipment rather than assuming.

Two Ghana rules are worth knowing whatever you import. First, Ghana Shippers' Authority registration is required before ICUMS processing under Act 1122, enforced from August 2026. Second, the GS 4510 used-vehicle pre-shipment inspection and Certificate of Conformity were due from October 1, 2026 but were suspended by the Ghana Standards Authority on October 5, 2026, with no new date announced. Do not treat the inspection as currently required, and do not treat the suspension as permanent either. For anything else regulatory, confirm with the agency or a licensed customs house agent.

Ghana's 2026 VAT reform set a single effective VAT rate of 20% including NHIL and GETFund. If duty and tax exposure matters to your purchase, build it into your budget before you approve a quote, not after.

Common Mistakes That Cost Buyers Money

• Buying before checking the rules. A bargain on a used appliance that Ghana bans is not a bargain.
• Sending a description instead of a link. You will get something close to what you meant, which is rarely what you wanted.
• Forgetting the last mile. Door delivery is included in Accra and Tema. Elsewhere, get the delivery quote first.
• Assuming a barrel price includes goods. It does not. The $190 barrel price ships a barrel you packed.
• Planning around a payment method we do not accept. Card, PayPal or Cash App. No Zelle, bank transfer or wire.
• Expecting a transit time in days. We confirm the vessel and estimated arrival when cargo sails.
